frequently asked questions.

Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life and we want to help you make it as special as possible. Many brides and grooms have no experience of professional videography and have lots of questions about the process. Here are some common queries and answers. Please get in touch if there’s anything we’ve missed!

I have no idea what package I want or if I need extras. What if I change my mind?

We hold on to all the footage for at least six months after your special day, which means you can change your mind and upgrade after the wedding and we won't have lost any of the special moments.

We want to book with you, what’s next?

We're so pleased you want to join the Heritage Wedding Films family. Upon booking, we take a non-refundable £450 deposit for all packages and send you a contract to sign electronically or via post. We will keep in regular contact from the moment you enquire until your wedding day to make sure every detail is ironed out. Four to six weeks before your wedding, we will finalise all the details and take final payment. This is also the time that we will have a final pre-wedding call with you and send over a questionnaire to get all the final scheduled details of the big day.

In the meantime, we recommend connecting with us on social media so you can stay up-to-date and get a clearer idea of what you can expect on the day. Find us on Instagram and Facebook.

What about music in my film?

To save you time and hassle, we can choose from a wide selection of commercially licensed tracks based on your music taste. Ensuring we have full rights to use and share the music included is essential. We are meticulous when it comes to picking the perfect song for each moment in your film and fully understand how much music plays a part in the final film.

Do I need a second videographer?

It is not essential to have a second videographer. The biggest advantages are having another camera angle on all those precious moments and getting more shots of loved ones enjoying your day. But don't worry if you choose to have a single videographer, your day will still be captured in its entirety and we won't miss anything.

Will you travel?

We are based in Ayrshire and Glasgow but will happily travel anywhere to shoot your wedding. For weddings outside of our catchment area, we charge a small fee of 45p per mile to cover our travel expenses. For round trips that amount to more than 6 hours, I require an accommodation fee of £50 to ensure I can spend all day capturing your wedding to the best of my ability. For more information, contact us directly.

Will we meet before the wedding?

Yes! It's essential that we build a great relationship so your film can be as personal as possible. If a face-to-face meeting isn't possible, video calls can be arranged so we can still get to know each other.

When do you arrive and finish?

We always offer all day coverage. This typically covers bridal and groom prep (when at the same location) until the end of the third dance but we are totally flexible!
